Here at the nursery we never plant a rose without dosing it with Fertilome Root Stimulator and Plant Starter Solution containing indole-3-butryic acid and a small load of nutrients which prevents transplant shock and allows the plant to get off to a great start.  Try it on your tomatoes as well and watch them take off and grow without the week they have taken in the past to get past the shock.
Black Spot Remedy
Roses inc Black spot remedy is a mix of three products that we use here at the nursery.  They are not the "latest and greatest" to hit the market but if used as instructed they work!  We include written instructions with each order.
Attention:  For as long as they last we will include a pair of our high quality reusable coveralls FREE with the purchase of fungicides or insecticides totaling $40.00 or more.  Please give us your size in the remarks section of the order form.
Dormant and protective Sprays
Dormant sprays should be used during the cool season when the outside temperatures stay below 70 degrees.  One application during the coldest part of the winter and another right after pruning in the Spring will go a long way in making  disease and insects easier to manage.  If disease is present I suggest you use Lime Sulpher spray in lue of the regular dormant oil.  Don't forget that your fruit trees and grapes will appreciate the same application as your roses.

Winter dry out is one of the leading causes of rose bush loss each year.  We offer products to help the plants hold moistue and tolerated the dry winter winds. Wilt-Pruf has been proven to be very effective at preventing dry out.
Remember also that Wilt-Pruf works great to keep flower arrangements fresher and the Christmas tree from drying out.
Fertilizers
There are a lot of fertilizers on the market and each makes the claim that it can do things that others can not.  Roses inc. Special Rose food could be used by itself in a hydroponic growing program without the use of any other fertilizers or minerals.  It has all of the minerals necessary for healthy, strong growth.  When used in your garden on a monthly application program we know you will be amazed at the results.  Roses are heavy feeders.  Don't waste time and money by feeding products with low nitrogen levels.
Fungicides
We carry a complete line of fungicides to prevent and control fungus on roses, grapes, and fruit trees.  Always use a contact plus a preventitive fungicide tank mixed with a good sufactant for excellant fungus control through out the season.  Do not use systemics on edibles unless the label specifically approvews it.
Attention:  For as long as they last we will include a pair of our high quality reusable coveralls FREE with the purchase of fungicides or insecticides totaling $40.00 or more.  Please give us your size in the remarks section of the order form.

Gloves
No Rosarian should be without a good pair of Rose Gloves.  We carry a complete line of Bionic Rose Gloves as well as the complete line of West Country Rose Gloves plus our own vented rose gloves.  I like it that the West Country gloves can be thrown in the washing machine and cleanned whenever the need arises.
Herbicides
Is your turf grass invading your flower/rose beds.  Hi-Yield Grass Killer selective herbicide is the answer to your problems.  It will not harm your roses even if you spray it right on them but the grass will die from the roots up.  I had a Fairy rose on a storm shelter that the Bermuda would grow into before it was large enough to shade it out.  I used Over the Top to spray the entire area, rose bush and all and the grass was eliminated with no damage to the rose.  Hi- Yield Grass Killer has the same active ingredient at a lower price per application.  Hi-Yield grass killer is sure a time saver and beats the heck out of crawling around on your hands and knees pulling grass only to have it come back in a few weeks.
Insecticides
Insects can be a real problem when they are attacking your bushes in large quantities.  Though systemic insecticides work very well in most cases the insect must eat, suck or do damage to the plant for the insecticide to kill it.  That is why I prefer to use a contact insecticide when spraying my roses.  Malathion and the permethrins like Hi-Yield 38 kill the insect on contact and stop the damage immediately.  Use them in the late evening to protect the bees and other beneficials.
Attention:  For as long as they last we will include a pair of our high quality reusable coveralls FREE with the purchase of fungicides or insecticides totaling $40.00 or more.  Please give us your size in the remarks section of the order form.
Meters
As inexpensive as our meters are it makes no sense that you do not have one for your garden.  I recomend our all in one meter.  The truth is that the light meter is not very usefull unless you are checking out your favorite window seal but the ph tester is quick and easy to use and the moisture meter takes the guess work out of watering pots.  Remember that if your ph is wrong no amount of fertilizer will make your roses grow and be healthy.
Microscopes
Disease and insects are so much easier to contol when you catch the problem in the early stages.  I use the handy little microscope we sell to scout my rose garden for early signs of pest.  Just carry it with you when you go to the garden and pull a leaf now and then throughout the garden and look at it through the 30 power lense.  The built in light makes it usable where ever you are and it is fun to identify problems and take action before the damage is bad enough that anyone can see it.
Miticides
Miticides will be much more effective if used prior to the investation reaching high levels.  That is where a good hand held microscope comes in real handy.  Do not use the same miticide all season.  You should alternate the miticide with each use being sure that you are varying  the miticides in regard to their mode of action.  I suggest Tetra San miticide which kills mites in all stages of life including the egg.  It is much less expensive than a lot of the miticides on the market but works equally as well.  It is a systemic but to maximumize it's effectiveness it should be used with a good surfactant like Surf King or Throughbred and sprayed to cover the entire plant.
Rodenticides
You must first identify the pest you are dealing with.  Moles are not rodents and they actually do no direct damage to your roses.  Voles and gophers are rodents and they eat the roots of your roses and can kill a healthy plant over a very short period of time and you will not know the plant is being attack until it is too late to save it.  Are you unsure what you have?  Give me a call and I will help you identify your pest so you can take the proper action.
We carry a full line of products that work to rid your garden of Voles, Gophers and Moles.

Safety Products
Are you tired of wiping sweat from your eyes.  Roses inc. terri cloth sweat bands are comfortable to wear and they will absorb perspiration before it burns your eyes.  They also help to keep your head cool.  I am never in the garden without one.
We also carry googles, knee pads, respirators, disposable gloves, coveralls and dust mask to keep you safe in the garden.
Seats
If you were to visit Roses inc anytime through the growing season you are apt to find me on my garden seat.  The old tracor style seat is very comfortable and fully adjustable to your comfort height.  Mine stays out in the garden the year round  and I have had it for seven or eight years and outside of the paint being a little dull it is in great shape.  What a back saver it is.
Sharpeners
Our sharpens are intended for use on knives.  They will put a edge on a knife blade that is sharp enough to shave with. They however are not for use on your pruners.  They make the blade much to smooth and sharp for the prunes to do a good job.  A fine file is a much better choice for sharpening you pruners.  The fine seration left behind aides in cutting and is much slower to dull.  Remember it is much easier to keep a blade sharp than to sharpen a dull blade.
Sprayers
Roses inc Tulsa is an authorized dealer for Peco Power Sprayers.  I use mine nearly everyday and it is great!  The large wheels make it very easy to pull over ruff ground and the removable tank is easy to clean.  It will hold four to five gallon of spray and can be sprayed to empty at least 4 times before recharging is necessary.
We also carry a full line of Gilmour sprayers for every use from misting to spraying the large garden.
Never use the same sprayer for herbicides that you use to spray insecticide or fungicide.  The herbicide permeates the plastic and is very hard to completely clean out.
Surfactant
Surfactants are a very important product which are neglected by most home gardeners.  Surfactants break surface tension and makes your spray spread out over the leaves of the roses and in most cases they contain a sticker which once dried will hold the spray on the leaves for an extended period of time giving the active ingredient in the spray time to work.  Todays dish soaps are made to rinse off easily unlike their predecessors of years gone by and are not any longer recommended as spray helpers.
Thermometers
If you raise roses in pots a ground thermometer is a very essential tool to have.  Pots can get very hot and the soil temperature should be monitored to assure it stays below 90 degrees.  Some of the most widely used fertilizer will not work until the soil temperature reaches 70 degrees.  Don't waste your time and money applying it too soon.
Ties
We carry every vine tie you could want.  From plastic zip ties in many different lengths to plastic ribbons and coated wire (my favorite).
Tools, Pruners, etc
Don't be fooled into believing that more expensive is always better when it comes to pruners.  Unless you prune for days on end like I do it is not necessary to pay a lot of money for your pruners.  Our forged pruners are very resonably priced and will serve your needs for years to come with a file touch up a couple times a season.
